He came to “Disco” as an 18-year-old boy. In 1990, friends from the city of Ivanovo Nikolai Timofeev and Alexey Ryzhov founded a group whose style was distinguished by an abundance of dance numbers and humorous songs. Later, the artists admitted in an interview that “Disco” was supposed to become a rock band, but due to the lack of money for musical equipment, they had to “focus on dancing.”

Zhukov at that time worked in a puppet theater, where he voiced various characters. Oleg said more than once that he would like to become an actor, so the guys did not hesitate to invite him to the team. And they were right.

Alexey Serov, who joined the group in 1995, once noted that by the time he arrived, all the group members had already made themselves known. "Oleg was a star!" – he added.

However, the talented young man did not strive to become famous. “I just like to sing funny songs and give joy to listeners,” said Oleg. No one could have thought that 13 years later the group’s fans wouldn’t even know: once upon a time there were not three, but four soloists.

Thanks to Zhukov, every performance of “Disco” was a real show. “No one could replace him,” friends and colleagues emphasized many years later. “A musical group is like a living organism,” explained Alexey Strakhov. “Yes, it can exist without an arm or a leg, but it won’t be the same.”

Oleg had everything he dreamed of: a grateful audience, joy, fun. And at the age of 26 he learned that he was terminally ill. At that time, "Disco Crash" was at the peak of its popularity. The artist was determined to fight the disease and work until the end.

The diagnosis of brain cancer sounded like a bolt from the blue. The disease progressed: Zhukov began to get tired at a catastrophic rate. Since 2001, he practically did not participate in the group’s new projects, and in the fall he ended up on the operating table at the Research Institute. Burdenko.

Doctors said his life was not in danger. Relatives were confident that Oleg would recover. He soon returned to the stage and amazed the audience with the same energy. However, this did not last long: in November 2001, the artist left touring, and his health deteriorated sharply. As doctors later admitted, the operation did not give the desired results.

At first, when there was still hope for a miracle, the guys laughed off the fans’ questions about Oleg. At one of the press conferences they replied that Zhukov was simply stuck in the elevator. At the beginning of 2002, after Zhukov’s long absence from the stage, rumors about his death appeared in the press. Timofeev and Ryzhov were forced to officially declare: their friend and colleague was sick and undergoing serious treatment.

In February of the same year, Oleg died suddenly in his apartment in Ivanovo. He was only 28 years old. The group "Disco Accident" continued to exist, but its members and fans admitted that they could not replace Zhukov.

“At the forefront of the attack” of dance music of the “zero” were several pop groups, but “Disco Accident” was one of those that gained a foothold over the next decade. History of creation and composition

It is unknown whether Russian dance music would have been replenished with hits from “Disco Accident” if the founders of the group were more wealthy. In the late 80s, perestroika gave a second wind to rock bands, songs were no longer played in apartment buildings, but in clubs and festivals, and students of the Ivanovo Energy Institute Nikolai Timofeev and Alexey Ryzhov were not at all averse to following in the footsteps of or.

However, the beginning musicians, whom they know from the university KVN, do not have enough money for instruments and equipment, and the creative tandem decides to start by holding discos. Since 1988, the duo has been holding parties both within the walls of the institute and at the Ivanovo club “Avaria”. The story of how the group got its name has long become a legend. According to her, at the time of the concert the wiring shorted and the lights went out. Panic almost set in, but Timofeev managed to defuse the situation with a joke:

“Calm down, everything is fine! After all, we are “Disco “Accident”!”

In the early nineties, Timofeev and Ryzhov were invited to review new songs, first on the Ivanovo regional radio Ivanovo, and then on the regional radio station of the Europe Plus network. DJs win the sympathy of the public not only by broadcasting, but also with covers of foreign hits, as well as parody compositions.

On the radio, artists perform under the name “Disco Crash”. In 1992, he joined the duet. Having an acting education, the new participant successfully joins the team.

Ten years later, soloist Nikolai Timofeev leaves Disco Accident. The musician, commenting on the decision, says that he does not see further creative development in the team. In 2012, the artist begins a solo career. There are trials going on between him and Ryzhov on the issue of rights to joint creativity. In the end, the court sides with the songwriter: Timofeev is prohibited from singing compositions written by Ryzhov at his concerts.

Three months after Nikolai left, Ryzhov, on the rapper’s recommendation, accepted him into the team. A native of Chelyabinsk participated in the third season of the Ukrainian project X-Factor, but was unable to reach the finals. But the artist gained a foothold in the “Disco Accident”. Ryzhov, Serov, Khokhlova - the composition has remained unchanged since 2012.

Music

The start of the band’s biography can be considered 1997: the first album “Dance with Me” was released on cassettes. It was distributed through music stores and kiosks in Ivanovo and neighboring regions. “Avariytsev” began to be listened to in Kostroma, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl. The conquest of the capital began with cooperation with the Soyuz studio. Representatives of the record company include the compositions of the Ivanovo group in their branded collections.

In 1999, the albums “Song about You and Me” and “Marathon” were released, but real success came to the artists with the fourth record. "Accident against!" concentrated the dance charge of the group’s creativity.

In 2000, discos played both original compositions, for example, “Drink Beer!”, and remixed versions of pop hits: “Attraction” (a remix of the song by the group “Zhuki”), “Ciao, Bambina!” (remix of the band's song) and others. At the same time, “New Year’s”, a song released six months before the release of the fourth album, also gained popularity.

The team’s fruitful collaboration with director Hindrek Maasik begins with the video for the song “Attraction.” In the future, the Estonian video director will shoot another 26 videos for “Accident”. And six of them are for songs from the fifth album “Maniacs”, which the musicians will release a year after the success of the previous record.

In the new release, dance hits with ironic and hooligan lyrics are combined with lyrical, melancholic compositions, such as “Sky” and “Disco Superstar”. The latter resembles a dedication to Oleg Zhukov: he dies three months after the release of “Maniacs”.

A tragic event in the band’s biography coincides with the triumph deserved by the hits from “Maniacs”. Since 2002, group members have repeatedly received awards from Muz-TV, Russian Radio, Avtoradio and other channels and stations. But the main award is the MTV Music Europe Awards - in 2002, the music channel named “Disco Accident” “Best Russian Performer”.

In 2003, the “Avarians” made their debut on camera. In December, the Rossiya channel airs the New Year's musical film The Snow Queen, in which the actors play a gang of robbers. The song they sang appears in the team’s sixth album, “Four Guys,” which was published in 2006.

The founders of the group were classmates Nikolai Timofeev and Alexey Ryzhov, who played together in KVN. As disc jockeys, they organized discos in clubs. Andrei Vaganov became the first director. Childhood and family of Nikolai Timofeev

The singer recalls that in early childhood, the biggest impression on him was the concert of Alla Pugacheva, which he attended with his parents. The boy remembered the event as joyful and festive, and this despite the fact that he was only four years old.

Everything related to music fascinated little Kolya. His parents enrolled him in the city dance ensemble “Smile”. Soon he began to attend clubs and various sections. At the age of six, the boy went to the first grade of a general education school and the first grade of a music school, where he studied piano. The most painful subject for him was solfeggio. This was the reason that a year later Nikolai persuaded his parents to allow him to leave the music school.

Next to the Timofeevs’ house there was a sports school with an athletics section. It was extremely convenient to study close to home. Nikolai ran long and short distances, long and high jump. This is probably where he stayed the longest. The coach was demanding; young athletes often went to competitions.

Nikolai was an active child. He participated in reading competitions, often took part in public events, played hockey, football, karting, and studied to become a projectionist.

The future artist’s favorite school subjects were: singing, works, physical education, drawing, history, geography, English language and literature. Timofeev did not like precise objects.

Timofeev was a regular visitor to the record library. He needed them to hold discos; in addition, he made recordings from the records on his tape recorder. The teenager’s favorite musical programs were “Morning Mail”, “Melodies and Rhythms of Foreign Pop”, “Peter’s pop-show”.

Nikolai not only played sports, he also attended classes in the musical group “A+B”. Having gone to summer camp, Timofeev met Lyosha Ryzhov there. They turned out to have a lot in common, including a passion for modern music. Together, the teenagers held many discos at the camp, thanks to which Lyosha and Nikolai became extremely popular among their peers. It was in the camp, performing other people's songs on stage, that the guys realized that music was their calling, and then they felt the taste of fame, albeit in a separate children's camp.

Two years later, Timofeev’s musical group was renamed. The reason was an incident that happened during one of the discos. When the lights suddenly went out and panic began, the young people, without being taken aback, announced that no one should worry, since “Disco “Accident” was with them. The young musicians liked this spontaneous name so much that they decided to continue calling themselves by this name.

In 1992, Oleg Zhukov joined the duet of Timofeev and Ryzhov. Four years later, after the band released their debut album “Dance with Me,” Alexey Serov also came to them. Zhukov and Serov were the main vocalists. In the seven numbered albums released, Timofeev's singing is heard only in a few songs.

Soon Nikolai began writing songs, but none of his works were included in the repertoire of the musical group.
