Morning star participants. Morning Star (TV show)

In March 1991, the first musical talent competition in the history of Russian television, the program “Morning Star,” started on ORT (“Channel One”).
The host of the show, Yuri Nikolaev, introduced the country to many future celebrities, but in 2003 the program was displaced from the air by the reality “Star Factory”... We remembered the musicians who started on the stage of the “Morning Star”.

"Lyceum"

Anastasia Makarevich, Elena Perova and Isolda Ishkhanishvili shot in 1995 with the song “Autumn”. 4 years earlier, the girls warmed up on the stage of the Morning Star with the ABBA song “One of Us”.

Prokhor Chaliapin

In 1999, Prokhor took third place on Zvezda with the song “Unreal Dream”. The future wife of the young artist was then 43 years old...

Ani Lorak

In March 1995, a certain Carolina had already applied for “Morning Star,” so 17-year-old Carolina Kuek wrote her name backwards and, under an unusual pseudonym, sang the song in her native language.

Valeria

In 1992, Valeria won the Morning Star. 22 years old was the maximum age to participate in the competition.

Yulia Nachalova

Nachalova won at Zvezda in the same year as Valeria, only she was 10 years old at the time. Yulia competed in a different age category.

Sergey Lazarev

Another "Star" winner. Lazarev took first place in the competition in 1997. Then the company of Yuri Nikolaev as a presenter was young Yulia Malinovskaya, Lazarev’s friend from “Fidgets”.

Vlad Topalov

In 2001, Lazarev again appeared on the stage of “Stars” - already in the company of Vlad Topalov. The guys performed a song from the musical “Notre Dame de Paris”. Until the all-Russian hysteria over the Smash duet! There was just a little bit left. Seryozha and Vlad had no idea how many more times they would have to perform the famous “Belle”...

Pelagia

In 1996, 10-year-old Pelageya won the Morning Star competition and received a thousand dollars!

Angelika Varum

In 1990, Varum made her debut as an independent vocalist with the song “Midnight Cowboy,” and the following year the singer’s first album, “Good Bye, My Boy,” was released. Of course it was a bomb.

Competition rules

Two performers took part in the competition. Participants were divided into 4 genres: vocal genre (age from 3 to 15 years), dance genre (age from 15 to 22 years), vocal genre (age from 15 to 22 years) and dance genre (age from 3 to 15 years). The participants' performances were evaluated by a jury of four people. The assessment was carried out using a 5-point system, then the presenters from these assessments calculated the amount of points received by the competition participants. The participant who received the highest amount advanced to the next round, the participant who received the fewest points was eliminated from the competition. If the participants scored the same amount of points, then the presenter asked the contestants to alternately sing a verse from a song or dance a fragment from a dance. Then he asked the jury members to recalculate the participants’ scores. If after recalculation the total points are the same, then both participants advanced to the next round. Also in 1991-1992, the program included a competition for TV presenters among girls. In this competition, presenter Yuri Nikolaev chose participants not for the role of his co-hosts, but for applicants who would be able to work on television. First, a video clip of the participant was shown on the screens installed in the hall, and then the participant went on stage, accompanied by the presenter. Then there was a short conversation (usually the participants answered the moderator’s questions), after which the jury gave marks to each of the participants. There was also a "Freestyle" competition hosted by Maria Bogdanova. After Yuri Nikolaev's partner changed, the competition was cancelled. Also, the program, together with the New Names Foundation, held a competition for young classical music performers, which was judged in the same way as the pop one. Since 1993, the scenery has changed in the program. The screens disappeared, and in their place a musical staff appeared. The rules of the competition have also changed. The participant who scored a large amount of points approached the staff and, using notes with numbers, chose an opponent with whom he was to perform in the next round. Also, the children's vocal genre was divided into two categories: from 3 to 9 years old and from 9 to 15 years old, and a folklore competition was added.

Closing the transfer

In 2002, the general director of Channel One, Konstantin Ernst, despite any persuasion from Yuri Nikolaev, took “Morning Star” off the air, which, in his opinion, could prevent the viewer from perceiving the new project “Star Factory”. The program moved to the TVC channel, where it aired for a year. The last episode of the program was released on August 3, 2003.

On October 3, 2016, the resumption of the program was announced and the competition website was opened now for admission to the semi-finals. It is necessary to obtain a majority of votes from registered Internet users. New nominations have been added: cinema, freestyle and family

Notes

Excerpt characterizing Morning Star (TV show)

My enthusiasm diminished a little, because I had already seen this beautiful planet for myself, and now I desperately wanted something else!.. I felt that dizzying “taste of the unknown”, and I really wanted to repeat it... I already I knew that this “hunger” would poison my future existence, and that I would miss it all the time. Thus, wanting to remain at least a little happy person in the future, I had to find some way to “open” the door to other worlds for myself... But then I still hardly understood that opening such a door is not so easy just... And that many more winters will pass until I will be free to “walk” wherever I want, and that someone else will open this door for me... And this other will be my amazing husband.
- Well, what are we going to do next? – Stella pulled me out of my dreams.
She was upset and sad that she didn't get to see more. But I was very glad that she became herself again and now I was absolutely sure that from that day on she would definitely stop moping and would be ready again for any new “adventures.”
“Please forgive me, but I probably won’t do anything else today...” I said apologetically. - But thank you very much for helping.
Stella beamed. She really loved feeling needed, so I always tried to show her how much she meant to me (which was absolutely true).
- OK. “We’ll go somewhere else another time,” she agreed complacently.
I think she, like me, was a little exhausted, but, as always, she tried not to show it. I waved my hand at her... and found myself at home, on my favorite sofa, with a bunch of impressions that now needed to be calmly comprehended, and slowly, leisurely “digested”...

By the age of ten I had become very attached to my father.
I've always adored him. But, unfortunately, in my first childhood years he traveled a lot and was at home too rarely. Every day spent with him at that time was a holiday for me, which I later remembered for a long time, and piece by piece I collected all the words dad said, trying to keep them in my soul, like a precious gift.
From an early age, I always had the impression that I had to earn my father’s attention. I don't know where this came from or why. No one ever stopped me from seeing him or communicating with him. On the contrary, my mother always tried not to disturb us if she saw us together. And dad always gladly spent all his free time left from work with me. We would go into the forest with him, plant strawberries in our garden, go to the river to swim, or just talk while sitting under our favorite old apple tree, which is what I loved to do almost everything.

In the forest for the first mushrooms...

On the banks of the Nemunas River (Neman)

Dad was an excellent conversationalist, and I was ready to listen to him for hours if such an opportunity arose... Probably just his strict attitude towards life, the arrangement of life values, the never changing habit of not getting anything for nothing, all this created for me the impression that I must deserve it too...
I remember very well how, as a very small child, I hung on his neck when he returned home from business trips, endlessly repeating how much I loved him. And dad looked at me seriously and answered: “If you love me, you shouldn’t tell me this, but you should always show me...”
And it was these words of his that remained an unwritten law for me for the rest of my life... True, I probably wasn’t always very good at “showing”, but I always tried honestly.
And in general, for everything that I am now, I owe it to my father, who, step by step, sculpted my future “I”, never giving any concessions, despite how selflessly and sincerely he loved me. During the most difficult years of my life, my father was my “island of calm,” where I could return at any time, knowing that I was always welcome there.
Having lived a very difficult and turbulent life himself, he wanted to be sure that I could stand up for myself in any unfavorable circumstances for me and would not break down from any troubles in life.
Actually, I can say from the bottom of my heart that I was very, very lucky with my parents. If they had been a little different, who knows where I would be now, and whether I would be at all...
I also think that fate brought my parents together for a reason. Because it seemed absolutely impossible for them to meet...
My dad was born in Siberia, in the distant city of Kurgan. Siberia was not the original place of residence of my father's family. This was the decision of the then “fair” Soviet government and, as has always been accepted, was not subject to discussion...
So, my real grandparents, one fine morning, were rudely escorted from their beloved and very beautiful, huge family estate, cut off from their usual life, and put into a completely creepy, dirty and cold carriage, heading in a frightening direction - Siberia...
Everything that I will talk about further was collected by me bit by bit from the memories and letters of our relatives in France, England, as well as from the stories and memories of my relatives and friends in Russia and Lithuania.
To my great regret, I was able to do this only after my father’s death, many, many years later...

To become famous, you first need to start doing and achieving something in life. Many stars have been achieving this since childhood. To become famous, you need to find your favorite thing, a passion for a hobby, and succeed in it.

There is also no need to hide your talents and skills, as they can be useful to other people. This is what the celebrities took advantage of, which we will talk about in this article.

In March 1991, the first musical talent competition in the history of Russian television, the program “Morning Star,” started on ORT (“Channel One”).

The host of the show, Yuri Nikolaev, introduced the country to many future celebrities, but in 2003, the program was pushed off the air by the reality “Star Factory”...

We remembered the musicians who started on the stage of the Morning Star.

Yuri Nikolaev’s program existed for more than 10 years and during this time it lit up many Russian pop stars. Let's remember the brightest debuts.

Pelagia

Vadim Tarakanov / Legion-Media

One of the brightest participants in “Morning Star” was the then very young singer Pelageya. The leader of the Kalinov Most group, Dmitry Revyakin, donated a tape of a talented girl singing to the competition. “Her voice, of course, amazed me, but what struck me even more was the meaningfulness of her singing,” he noted.

As a result, 11-year-old Pelageya made it to the finals and won. But this might not have happened. Only recently in the documentary “Pelageya. Happiness loves silence.” Yuri Nikolaev admitted that he barely managed to stop the dishonest voting at that time: “When I open the envelope with the winner’s name at home, I read a different surname, not Pelageya. I say: “Why not her?” It turned out that one colleague - a respected member of the jury - asked everyone to choose another girl, since it was her student. I asked all the jury members to write their opinions separately again so that everything would be extremely honest and then the majority would vote for Pelageya.”

“Even the fact that I was in the top three finalists was a miracle for me; my mother and I couldn’t believe it! – admitted in the program “Honest Word”. – Nadya Mikhalkova opens the envelope and says after a pause: “Pppelageya.” I remember it as if it were yesterday... And I also remember this envelope with fabulous money for us - 1000 dollars. We lived on this money for a long time.”

Valeria

The television competition became fateful for the singer Valeria. In 1992, the 21-year-old artist performed in the most adult category. “I was very nervous,” the singer recalls. According to her, in principle she never liked participating in competitions, but she overcame herself. And for good reason! Her performance impressed the jury and she was chosen as the winner.

Yulia Nachalova

“In the early 90s, Yuri Nikolaev did a global job,” says Nachalova. – It was all absolutely alive, real, a huge promotion. They knew the participating children and cared about them. The same “Factory” is not a live performance, and everyone sees it perfectly well. And often it was not talented children from the outback that ended up there, but the children of the director of some Donetsk Coal. And they are not even embarrassed to say it. Irina Ponarovskaya really didn’t like people like that. When the girls sang past the notes at the competition, she wrote down “get married” on a piece of paper. And by the end of the auditions there was a whole column of such “married women.”

Julia met Irina Ponarovskaya backstage at the Morning Star, and subsequently the famous singer was the young artist’s mentor for a long time.

Group "Lyceum"

The debut of the Lyceum group also took place on the stage of the Morning Star. This was back in 1991. Anastasia Makarevich, Elena Perova and Isolda Ishkhanishvili performed the ABBA song “One of Us”.

“We were 15 years old. There was no feeling that we would become some kind of popular group. Only a few years later the song “Autumn” appeared... – recalls the ex-soloist of the group “Lyceum” Lena Perova. “And Yuri Alexandrovich is our ray of sunshine!”

Angelika Varum

“It was 1990 and my first performance on stage as a solo singer. I can't remember anything except terrible excitement. And there was also this habit of holding the microphone with both hands so as not to faint... This was my debut and thanks to this the songs sold out and became popular,” the singer said in the “Tonight” program. – When my grandmother found out that I was participating in some kind of competition, she became worried and said: “Why do you need this?” But when I said that the presenter and author of this project is Yuri Nikolaev, she calmed down and gave her blessing.”

The very next year, the first album “Good Bye, my boy” was released, many of the songs from which became real hits.

Ani Lorak

The singer, when she was 17 years old, performed under her real name and surname - Carolina Kuek. Like many, she dreamed of going on stage at the Morning Star, and in 1995 her dream came true.

“She came and sang. I listened: “Great, what’s your name?” She replied: "Carolina." I say: “Stop, we already have one Carolina. I can’t take two Carolines in one round,” said Yuri Nikolaev. “She walked away and after a while returned and said that she had figured out what to do, and read the name Caroline backwards, it turned out “Ani Lorak” - and they left it that way.”

The singer performed a touching song in Ukrainian and won. “Then I was given a certificate for the purchase of shoes, and I bought shoes made of genuine leather - it was an event!” – the artist recalls.

Sergey Lazarev

From early childhood, Sergei Lazarev also watched this competition, dreaming of getting there. When he was about 10 years old, he came to a bakery near his house and accidentally struck up a conversation with the saleswoman. She, casually, told him that her daughter was the same age as him.

“He shows the photo, I see that the girl is on the stage of the Morning Star. I say: “How did my daughter get there?” It turned out that she was studying in the group “Fidgets,” the singer recalls. “I went there, passed the audition and was accepted. At first I just handed flowers to the participants of the Morning Star, but after some time, when I was already 14 years old, I finally went on stage as a participant.”

Vlad Topalov

Vlad Topalov appeared on the stage of the Morning Star before any of the heroes in our selection. He was only five years old. The boy's parents sent him to the musical group "Fidgets", in which he performed for quite a long time.

“I was a member of the Morning Star program as a child. I completed it to the finals, from the very first day. I was 5 years old. I can absolutely clearly, firmly and confidently say that this is an honest, fair competition for the live performance of songs by young artists. There is no politics here, there are no agreements of any kind. I have been friends with since childhood, who, in fact, raised us all there. And I have never met a more honest and just person in my life,” the artist noted in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

By the way, the first joint performance of Vlad Topalov and Sergei Lazarev with the song “Belle” from the musical “Notre Dame de Paris” took place at the “Morning Star” in 2001. There was no group Smash!! then, they sang simply like graduates of the group “Fidgets”.

Zara

Many are sure that singer Zara first appeared on the big stage in the “Star Factory 6” project. However, it is not. She, like other heroes of our selection, began her creative career with “Morning Star”. In 1997, the 12-year-old singer took part in a television competition with the song “Juliet’s Heart.” Zarya managed to make it to the finals, but the victory ultimately went to another participant.

“How scared I was! – the artist admits. – Firstly, I have never been to Moscow before. Secondly, children from “Fidget” took part in the competition. But despite everything, I reached the final. And when I looked back at the shooting later, I saw that while singing the songs, I was looking at the floor the whole time. And it seemed to me that no one noticed this! That’s when I realized that something needs to be done about this. Studying at the Theater Academy certainly helped me. Now I feel free on stage.”

“You have no idea how you changed my life! – Chaliapin said to Yuri Nikolaev in the “In Our Time” program. – I was 15 years old then. And I, a simple provincial, suddenly found myself on the Morning Star program - it was a real fairy tale! And not only because I sang there and made it to the finals. After that, I began to go with my friends to all the “Morning Star” concerts, I was inspired, and from that time on I had a million photographs with famous artists. And Yuri Alexandrovich treated us children kindly and didn’t kick anyone out, thanks to him for that!”

Yuri Nikolaev is a famous Soviet TV presenter who once became a real symbol of the entire television industry of the USSR. There are many different legends about his personality, which to some extent only confirm the popularity of our today's hero.

In his biography you can find dozens of interesting facts. But can we say with confidence that we know absolutely everything about the person we regularly see on our television screens? Of course not. After all, there are blind spots in the fate of every public person.

Early years, childhood and family of Yuri Nikolaev

Yuri Aleksandrovich Nikolaev was born in Moldova - in the city of Chisinau. His parents were far from the world of art and both belonged to the law enforcement system of the Soviet Union.

In particular, the father of our today's hero served with the rank of colonel in the ranks of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs and was even awarded a huge number of different awards. No less interesting person was the mother of the future TV presenter, Valentina Ignatovna. The woman worked almost all her life in the KGB system.

This circumstance becomes especially interesting when taking into account the fact that Yuri Nikolaev’s grandfather once suffered greatly from the activities of the State Security Committee, was repressed and even moved to Canada. However, today we will leave this question out of the question.

As for Yura himself, his creative path began quite early. Even in his childhood, he became part of the school theater group, which in turn became his ticket to the world of television. Our today's hero played children's roles on Chisinau television, and therefore at an early age he became a real star in his school.

The first successes led Yuri Nikolaev to think about a professional career in television. At that time, the future famous TV presenter dreamed of becoming an actor, and therefore, after graduating from school, he decided to move to Moscow.

In 1965, our today's hero moved to Russia, where he soon submitted documents to GITIS. The young Moldovan guy passed the entrance exams successfully, and therefore soon became a student at the acting department of the State Institute of Theater Arts.

Star Trek by Yuri Nikolaev: filmography and television

Our today's hero began his creative career as an actor at the Pushkin Theater. Yuri Nikolaev performed in this place from 1970 to 1975. The actor also began acting in films around the same period. In 1971, he played a small role in the film “Zoya Rukhadze”, followed by a larger work in the film “Big Stages”.

Film roles brought Yuri Nikolaev into the world of television. From 1973 to 1975, he worked as a freelancer, but soon received the position of announcer at the USSR State Television and Radio.

Igor Nikolaev in the film “Yuri Nikolaev. I can't live without TV"

For some time, in parallel with his work on television, Yuri Nikolaev also acted in films, but already in the same year of 1975 he received an offer that forced him to completely focus on his television career. This was the “Morning Mail” project, which our today’s hero became the host of in the mid-seventies.

This program brought him enormous success and made Nikolaev popular in all regions of the USSR. Over the years, his partners on the set were a variety of representatives of Soviet television. Only Yuri Alexandrovich himself remained the living embodiment of the spirit of the television program.

In total, the presenter worked continuously on the Morning Mail program for sixteen years. In parallel with this, he also hosted some other television programs. For some time, Yuri Nikolaev worked as a presenter of news programs on the USSR State Radio and Television, and also hosted the legendary children's program “Good night, kids.”

However, his personal field of activity has always been music programs. At various periods of time, our today's hero worked on the programs “Song of the Year”, “Blue Light”, and also hosted a song festival in Jurmala.

Yuri Nikolaev about gays and show business

As noted in some sources, in mid-1978, Yuri Nikolaev became the first TV presenter in the USSR to appear on camera while intoxicated. Nikolaev still remembers this episode with humor. H

As for other successes, in this regard it is worth noting the programs “Morning Star” and “Guess the Melody,” on the creation of which our today’s hero worked as a producer. Thanks to these projects, the popular Soviet TV presenter managed to remain a prominent figure in the world of Russian television even after the collapse of the USSR.

In 1997, Yuri Nikolaev again began working on the resumed program “Morning Mail”. Subsequently, he also hosted the programs “Dancing on Ice” and “Dancing with the Stars” on the Rossiya channel, as well as the program “Property of the Republic” (together with Dmitry Shepelev). In parallel with his work on television, Yuri Nikolaev sometimes acted in films. In particular, in the 2000s he appeared in the TV series “Annushka” and “Yesterday Live”.

For his numerous successes in the world of Soviet and Russian television, Yuri Nikolaev was awarded two prizes from the Union of Journalists of Russia, the Order of Friendship, and the title of People's Artist of Russia. Currently, Yuri Nikolaev is working on television on old and new projects. One of these is the fundamentally new program “In Our Time.”

Personal life of Yuri Nikolaev

Yuri Nikolaev’s first marriage was rather short-lived, and therefore today practically nothing is known about him. Another thing is the marital union with his second wife, Eleanor Alexandrovna. The lovers met at a party with the girl’s older brother, who was an old friend of Yuri. After this, the young people began dating. Today, Eleanor and Yuri have been together for many years. The couple has no children.

In ordinary life, Yuri Nikolaev loves sports and maintains friendly relations with Leonid Yakubovich. In the past his close friend was
