Squirrel with emerald nuts drawing. How to draw a squirrel with a pencil

The little red squirrel is a character that can often be found in fairy tales and cartoons. It is not surprising that children who study fine arts choose the squirrel as the heroine of their paintings. Often their parents help them in this process. But not everyone knows how to draw a squirrel step by step for children.

Step-by-step lessons will help you draw not only simple, but also complex images of a squirrel.

Using a simple technique, you can easily draw a squirrel step by step, even if the child does not know how to draw.

This lesson is specially designed by art teachers for children:

  1. Using a pencil, draw two ovals on a landscape sheet—the top one should be half the size of the bottom one. The upper oval can be drawn tilted to its side. This will be the head of the future squirrel.
  2. On the left side, starting from the bottom of the large oval, draw a fluffy tail, an ear with a small tassel, an eye and a left paw.
  3. From the middle of the second oval, draw a semicircle - this is the division for the squirrel’s legs.
  4. Draw a couple of legs and an acorn cap.
  5. Draw the second ear, nose and mouth. Complete the drawing of the acorn, which the squirrel holds tightly with both paws.
  6. Draw a small oval in the eyes with eyelashes and paint everything except it black.
  7. Decorate the squirrel as desired. It could be, for example, a reddish-orange color.

Simple drawing for young children

  1. Draw a large circle on top of the sheet where the drawing will be located. You can draw by hand or use a compass.
  2. From the bottom of the circle, draw a curved line to the bottom third of the circle. At the bottom of the line, draw 2 circles - one inside the other. This is a squirrel's nose.
  3. Draw 2 circles to the curved line - medium and small sizes. On the bottom circle of medium size, draw a fluffy tail on the right side. On the small circle, between the large and medium ones, draw the upper paw.
  4. Divide a large circle with a curved line. On the left, right from the edge of the left part of the circle, draw one oval-shaped eye, and in the middle of the second part of the circle - a second one. Draw ears with a sharp end on top of the circle.
  5. On the bottom circle, draw an oblong arc - this is the squirrel’s lower paw.
  6. Erase extra pencil marks.
  7. Use the vertical hatching technique to add fur. Draw eyelashes, eyebrows, mustache, two protruding teeth.
  8. Draw a twig with leaves under the squirrel's lower paw.
  9. Decorate the squirrel with colored pencils, felt-tip pen or paints.

Drawing of a squirrel for children to copy

There is another, more complex technique designed for children and novice artists who do not know how to draw a squirrel step by step:

How to draw a squirrel from the cartoon “Ice Age”

The funny squirrel from “Ice Age” immediately won the hearts of viewers. Fans of the cartoon who are involved in fine arts have probably tried to draw her more than once. The presented technique will help you easily depict your favorite character on a postcard or any other surface.

Since the squirrel from the cartoon is constantly chasing a nut, then in the picture under consideration the character will be with his favorite delicacy.

Step-by-step instructions for drawing a funny squirrel:

We draw a squirrel from the fairy tale about Tsar Saltan

Often children are asked to draw an illustration for a completed work. Drawing a fairy-tale character, a squirrel, with step-by-step instructions for children will be not only interesting, but also useful. The squirrel from the fairy tale about Tsar Saltan came to life thanks to Soviet animators.

A step-by-step lesson will help you reproduce the squirrel that sits in the crystal castle:

How to draw a squirrel in a hollow in a tree

To draw a squirrel sitting near a hollow, you can use a simple technique and draw part of the tree with a circle. Or you can use a more complex scheme. For this drawing you need to divide the landscape sheet into 4 parts.

To draw a squirrel beautifully, you need to follow the step-by-step instructions.

Instructions:

  1. In the right rectangle in the left corner, draw a partial oval - the head of the future squirrel.
  2. Draw ears, an eye, a mouth and a nose, which then needs to be painted over with black.
  3. In the lower right rectangle, draw the upper leg in an oblong shape.
  4. Draw a curved line that goes through the top and bottom left rectangles. This is the back of a squirrel.
  5. Draw an arc under the upper leg - a division for the legs.
  6. Connect the arc and the curve representing the back with a smooth line, drawing the lower leg at the end.
  7. Draw a large fluffy tail.
  8. Draw the top paw and insert a mushroom or acorn into the paws.
  9. Draw the bottom leg.
  10. Color the drawing as desired.

Step by step draw a squirrel with a nut

If the child has mastered the skills of drawing an animal using simple techniques, then you can move on to a realistic depiction of the animal:

Squirrel by cells in a notebook

Children who are already familiar with numbers and can count fluently can draw in the boxes. Graphic dictation will help develop fine motor skills, attention and logic and strengthen counting skills.

Dictation - it is better to start drawing from the bottom of the drawing and gradually move to the top.

You need to dictate like this:

  1. Retreat one cell to the left.
  2. Draw a line 5 cells long.
  3. 1 square up.
  4. 3 cells to the right.

With children over 9-10 years old, you can try to perform more complex patterns.

How to draw a squirrel 3D

Recently, drawings with a 3D effect have become increasingly popular among artists. This effect is achieved through an unusual drawing technique, and in some cases, cutting out individual elements of the design and folding it.

The presented video tutorial and step-by-step instructions will make it easy to master the art of 3D graphics:

  1. First you need to draw a piece of ice with an acorn stuck inside. Scratty the squirrel tries to pull her out. Try to draw with light movements, without pressing on the pencil.
  2. Re-circle the silhouette, complete the pupils and sharp teeth.
  3. Paint over the entire design with vertical strokes, and then lightly go over it with an eraser to even out the color.
  4. Then darken the back of the squirrel, the right side of the tail, and the bottom of the nut. Draw the shadow of the squirrel from the piece of ice to the tail.
  5. Using thin scissors, trim away excess paper around the face and tail. Fold the sheet in half. Place the drawing on the bottom.

Draw a squirrel mask step by step

Mask No. 1

Mask No. 2 template-base

Template - muzzle and ears

Ready mask

Children love to try on different masks. One of them could be a squirrel mask. The techniques discussed will help you quickly and easily create a mask for children. It's as easy as drawing a squirrel in a sketchbook.

For step-by-step work you will need:

  • a sheet of white paper;
  • sheet of orange cardboard;
  • color picture with a squirrel's face;
  • glue;
  • scissors;
  • paper clips;
  • elastic band (but you can do without it).

Progress:

  1. Cut 2 identical strips 4 cm wide from a sheet of paper.
  2. Stack the sheets on top of each other and wrap them around your head and secure with a paper clip.
  3. Trim the excess end, leaving 3-4 cm of paper after the paperclip.
  4. Glue the picture to the orange cardboard and cut out the face along the outline.
  5. Carefully glue the muzzle to the rim and glue the edges of the rim. The mask is ready.

For a more complex model of masks you will need:

  • 2 mask templates - base and ears with a muzzle;
  • colored cardboard of different colors;
  • scissors;
  • a simple pencil;
  • glue;
  • meter rubber band.

Progress:

  1. Cut out the necessary elements from the template. Trace the face with ears on white paper, and the base on orange. Cut them out.
  2. Carefully cut two large holes for the eyes and two small ones for the elastic band on the orange base.
  3. Measure the elastic from ear to ear and cut it off, adding 5 cm to the required length.
  4. Thread and fasten the elastic into the required holes.
  5. Glue the muzzle and ears to hide the holes from the elastic.
  6. Use a black felt-tip pen or gouache to draw a nose. The mask is ready.

A complex and realistic example of a squirrel

Step-by-step instructions:

Experienced artists can move on to more complex and detailed squirrel drawings:

  1. Using a hard pencil, draw the outline of the squirrel.
  2. Using vertical hatching, draw the ears and fur on the tail. Where the tail touches the back, you need to greatly darken the strokes.
  3. Using a soft pencil, darken the ears, eye area, paws and tail. Re-darken the area where the tail meets the back. Using the same pencil, darken the ground around the squirrel.
  4. Using the hatching method, using a hard pencil, apply the main tone. The strokes should be short and almost invisible.

The presented lessons not only show how to draw a squirrel step by step for children, but also motivate novice artists to move to new heights of fine art from simple to complex.

Purpose: for decorating a room, a gift, can serve as work for an exhibition, competition.
Target: performing a drawing using mixed painting techniques.
Tasks:
1. Introduce techniques for using paper tones in drawing.
2. Learn to draw spruce branches and squirrels in gouache on a sheet of colored paper, using different drawing techniques: creating a sketch with a simple pencil, printing, poking, printing with a foam pad, drawing with the tip of a brush.
3. Develop the ability to mix paints on a sheet of paper or on a palette.
4. To develop the ability to notice and reflect in a drawing the structural features of an animal and the beauty of nature.

Dear colleagues, today I want to continue the topic of drawing on colored cardboard. The beautiful squirrel lives in the greenery of the trees, so I decided to draw it on green cardboard.

Squirrel in a fur coat,
Jump, and from the Christmas tree to the alder,
Skilfully jumps through the trees,
And he hides nuts in the double.
A. Ganiev

Where does a squirrel live and what does it eat?
Squirrels are distributed almost all over the world (with the exception of Australia). The mobile mammal belongs to the rodent family.
This typical resident of Russian forests is a real beauty. Twice a year (spring and autumn) she changes her fur coat so that in the summer she can sport a bright red fur coat,

and in winter not be so noticeable in a gray, insulated outfit.

The common squirrel lives in a hollow. Many animals have several such houses. She lives in one and breeds, and uses the rest as storage rooms.

It does not hibernate in winter, and it is quite difficult to obtain acorns and nuts - the main food of this rodent - during cold weather. So the economic animal stores them for a rainy day, hiding them in nests.
The main food of the taiga beauty is pine nuts and acorns; its menu can be diluted with seeds of other cones, mushrooms, berries and even bird eggs.
Squirrels have one trait that is very useful for wildlife - their constant desire to stock up. Squirrels hide and bury seeds and nuts for the winter, and then... they forget where they hid them! What they forgot where they buried then germinates.
Puzzles
Sits on a branch, not a bird.
There is a red tail, not a fox...

Materials required for work:
green cardboard;
gouache, two brushes: pony or squirrel No. 1 and No. 2;
double sippy cup for water,
simple pencil, palette, foam swab

We lay the green cardboard horizontally.

We will need a foam swab. We wet it in water, squeeze out excess water, and add yellow gouache.

We paint the middle of the sheet with yellow gouache using a foam swab and dipping it.

Drawing a squirrel (simple pencil sketch)
Using a simple pencil, draw a tree branch at the bottom of the sheet.

On the branch, in the center of the leaf, draw an oval - the body.

We denote the head in a circle.

We outline the joints of the squirrel's front and hind legs in circles, and schematically draw the paws.

Paint over the squirrel.
We draw the ears and start coloring them.

We draw the paws, paint the head in orange, the chest and lower part of the head in yellow.

Paint over the back, paws, and upper part of the tail.

Make the lower part of the tail darker.

Paint the branch with brown gouache.

Using the end of a thin brush, draw fur with strokes on the ears, body, and tail.

Using black we draw the eyes, nose, and additional fur more clearly. Using dark brown paint we paint the bark on the branch.

Drawing spruce needles.
We put green paint on a foam swab and stamp it on the places where the needles are supposed to be.

To draw spruce needles using the printing technique, we will use a small piece of cardboard (2 cm wide) and dark green gouache poured into a gouache lid (can be spread on a palette)

To draw needles, dip the end of a cardboard rectangle in dark green gouache and often apply it to the sheet.

We put light green gouache on the cardboard and paint light needles on top of the dark needles with a stamp.

This is what spruce branches look like. You can draw a bump in the squirrel's paws.

On top of the light needles we draw dark green needles in the same way.

We got such a squirrel!

Let's frame it.

How to draw a squirrel?

One of the activities that interests almost all children is drawing. Over the years, this hobby gives way to other more important matters. And in vain! By drawing, we relax, recharging with creative energy.

Drawing is not only an interesting activity, but also useful. Follow our clear instructions and you will have a beautiful drawing that you can proudly show to your friends.

In this article we will look at several options on how to draw a squirrel. If you want to draw a fluffy and nimble rodent with your child, then pay attention to the simplest schematic drawings. For beginning artists, below are various patterns and step-by-step lessons.

How to draw a squirrel step by step with a pencil for children and beginners?

After a walk in the park or watching a cartoon in which one of the characters is a squirrel, your child may ask you to help him draw this animal. Don't be so quick to say no. Try to draw a real forest squirrel with him, and perhaps you too will end up with something “masterpiece”.

You can pick up a beautiful photo of a squirrel and try to draw it yourself with a simple pencil. But if you do not have enough experience, then it is better to take the advice of professional artists who give detailed instructions on how to draw an animal in their step-by-step lessons.

It is difficult to convey the features of such a graceful animal without painting other drawings. This material is for everyone who decided to draw a “real” squirrel with a pencil and “revive” it with paints.

Squirrels are very graceful animals

To draw a fluffy squirrel, we arm ourselves with a soft pencil (it can be 4H, 2B or 6B) and a sheet of paper. It is more convenient for both children and adults to draw using geometric shapes for primary contours.

By fitting the details into a circle or square, it is easier to give it the desired shape in the future. Don't ignore this advice. Even experienced artists use this method.

We remember that you do not need to press on the pencil in the first stages of drawing. Otherwise, the whole drawing will not look neat later.

Step 1:

  • Let's draw the main auxiliary lines. Let's draw two circles. The squirrel's body is a large oval. It can be depicted as a large egg, which occupies 1/3 of the sheet, with the side narrowed upward. We draw it with an inclination to the right side.
  • Draw a circle near the top of this oval (the size of the large oval should be equal to three small circles). This will be the squirrel's head.
  • The accuracy of the primary contours determines how accurate the resulting image of the squirrel will be. Therefore, in the first stages it is worth trying to repeat everything exactly as in the presented sketch.

Step 2:

  • Let's outline the approximate contours of the squirrel's paws.
  • It will be much easier to maintain proportions in the drawing if you use markings of small circles. This technique will allow you to determine where to start drawing the squirrel’s legs and how thick they should be.
  • The squirrel's front legs are short. Let's draw them using two circles: the small one is the “squirrel brush”, the large one is the squirrel’s elbow. Let's draw a small arc above the small circle, thus depicting the second front leg.
  • The squirrel's hind legs are long, like those of a rabbit or cat. Let's draw the squirrel's knees in a small circle. You should get something like this:

Step 3:

  • At this stage we will draw the outlines of the ears, muzzle and bushy tail. This step just seems difficult. In fact, it is enough just to repeat all the lines exactly, as in the figure, maintaining the desired proportions.
  • We outline the outline of the tail. Let's draw long ears on the squirrel's head. Let's correct the outline of the head drawn earlier a little, showing the outline of the muzzle and cheeks.
  • Let us draw a circle where the squirrel's eye will be located. As you can see, the animal is becoming more and more like a real squirrel.

Step 4:

  • Now we will draw the small details of the drawing and clarify its contours. Please note: the squirrel's tail is divided into two halves by a curved line. This will help visually add volume to it.
  • Let's draw the toes on the front and hind legs, shape the muzzle and finish the eye - a circle slightly pointed at the bottom.
  • We erase all the auxiliary lines and erroneous strokes, but try not to touch the working path with the eraser. Look how quickly we completed the squirrel drawing! There's still quite a bit left. Don’t stop halfway: the squirrel has not yet “overgrown” with hair and it does not have small button eyes.

Step 5:

  • Let's draw the squirrel's nose and clarify the shape of the eye. Let's start drawing the squirrel's skin and long fluffy hair on its tail. To make the tail fluffy, draw long and thin strokes, as in the picture.
  • Go over the squirrel's body and head with a pencil. Draw the fur on the ears and shade the darker areas with short lines.
  • At the final stage, you can take colored pencils and paint over the drawing in orange. Paint dark areas brown.

The previous drawing will be more enjoyable for adults to draw. For children, the following method of drawing a squirrel is suitable:

Let's draw the following design: an elongated ellipse, from which the squirrel's body will later be formed, we will attach a circle to it - the head, add a tail and sketch out the legs. Here's what should be on your piece of paper:

Let's draw squirrel contours in our design: make the head more elongated, add ears with tassels, fingers, and draw a muzzle.

Let's draw the fluffy tail: it should look voluminous. We use a curved line to denote the squirrel's tummy. Let's draw a cute fungus in the paws. If desired, you can depict both a nut and a berry in the squirrel’s paws.

Let's delete the auxiliary lines. Let's add a smiling squirrel mouth and a big eye. Using short strokes we outline the fur on the belly.

The squirrel drawing is almost ready. We will color it with an orange pencil or felt-tip pen. We will decorate the mushroom with two colors: dark brown for the cap and light brown for the stem.

To make the squirrel look more realistic, let’s draw several light areas: on the cheeks, on the legs and on the tail.

How to draw a squirrel on a tree?

To draw a squirrel on a tree, you need to decide how exactly the animal will be depicted: sitting on a tree or preparing to jump to another tree.

Drawing of a funny squirrel, reminiscent of a character from one of the cartoons, is performed in several stages according to the same scheme:

  • three circles are drawn, which will then become the body, chest and head of the animal
  • the circles are connected, and then the eyes, nose, paws, and tail of the squirrel are drawn in
  • after we draw the squirrel, we “seat” it on a branch and decorate it

In this picture a squirrel is depicted preparing to jump. It is better to draw the branch under the squirrel at an angle.

You can draw a squirrel on a tree in another way. To do this we need two simple pencils: hard and soft. We will use the hard one to draw the initial contours, and the soft one will be useful for clarifying and detailing the drawing.

  • Draw with a hard pencil. Using a rectangle, mark the place on the sheet (in the upper third) where we will place the squirrel. If this is not done, the drawing may “move out” or may not fit into the sheet at all.
  • Let's draw a circle and draw a diagonal in it. Now let's draw the squirrel's head around the circle. Look at the picture to see how to do this.

  • Draw the eye diagonally. The ears are two cones. Let's draw the muzzle. As you can see, it's not difficult at all.
  • Draw a curved line from the head down. This will be the squirrel's back. Let's draw an elongated oval at the bottom. This will be the squirrel thigh. Add a front leg and draw the belly line. Now you can mark the second hind leg with a short line. Let's draw the fingers.

  • Let's sit the squirrel on a branch. These are two parallel uneven lines that are drawn at a slight angle. Let's add a large fluffy tail, a peeking part of the front paw and a nut. We got the base for the squirrel done.

  • Using short dashed lines we paint over the protruding front and hind legs, the nut, add shadows on the ears, and shade the underbelly. We paint over the eye, not forgetting that we need to leave a round white highlight.

  • Change the pencil to a soft one. We begin to draw protruding fur on the back, lower abdomen, tail, and thigh using short lines. Add fur to the squirrel's forehead. Here it is very important not to overdo it, and to accurately repeat the direction of the fur and the length as in the picture.

  • With your index finger, we begin to smear the drawn lines, without affecting the area of the eyes, nose and main contours. Again, draw the fur along the edges, pressing more on the pencil.

  • Shade the area near the ears. Now we take an eraser and begin to “draw” with it, as we used to draw short dashed lines with a pencil in the direction of hair growth: between the ears, on the nose, near the eyes, on the cheek, on the elbow, at the top of the thigh, on the tummy and tail. Slightly blur the boundaries of the resulting lines.

And here is a version of a very cheerful squirrel on a tree:

How to easily draw a squirrel by cells?

Children love to draw in the boxes. Such an exciting activity is very useful: the child will not only pass the time in silence, but will also improve hand coordination and concentration.

Graphic dictations, which is what cell drawings are called, develop logical thinking.

To draw a squirrel by cells, you just need to find a drawing you like and make a calculation based on the cells of the animal figure.

But if your child decides to transfer a drawing of a squirrel from a postcard or photograph onto paper, then the following diagram will help him:

  • You need to move from the bottom of the picture, gradually moving higher and higher along the rows of cells. You first need to draw the legs on which the squirrel sits, then “complete” the body, large tail and head of the squirrel using cells.
  • The squirrel's eye is one cell in the center of the head.
  • You can depict a squirrel sitting on a tree or stump.

How to draw a squirrel from the fairy tale about Tsar Saltan?

To draw a squirrel from the fairy tale about Tsar Saltan, we will need to create a real illustration with an episode in which the squirrel sits in a crystal house and gnaws nuts with golden shells.

  • Let's start drawing a house for the squirrel. Use a ruler to make sure the walls are even. Of course, you can draw a house like in a Soviet cartoon. But we draw with children, so we’ll simplify the “squirrel’s” home a little.
  • Let's draw a rectangle, place a triangle on it, and draw 2 more rectangles on the sides. Let's separate the columns and draw the entrance. You can draw a staircase, but for us it’s just a downhill slide.
  • At the top of the house we will draw a squirrel. Let's decorate the house: add various carved elements.

Draw a rectangle and a triangle on it

Let's add columns and descent

“The squirrel sings songs and gnaws all the nuts” - lines from a famous fairy tale that made the small red animal with a fluffy tail everyone’s favorite. In the park, children and adults watch with great pleasure the agile and nimble squirrel descending from the trees to feast on the treats they offer.

In this lesson, which tells how to draw a squirrel step by step, recommendations of varying degrees of complexity have been selected especially for children, so that each artist can choose the most suitable method for himself.

Complex and realistic example

The proposed method of depicting a real squirrel explains how children can draw a squirrel with a pencil step by step. In addition to visualization in the form of pictures, it contains a detailed description, which will allow even novice artists to depict the animal very realistically.

Stage 1

Every good drawing starts with a good sketch. For a squirrel, the most suitable sketch should contain the main elements: an oval of the body and a slightly elongated oval of the head, across which an auxiliary line is drawn to mark the muzzle.

Stage 2
To this base are added lines that outline paws, ears and the famous fluffy tail. The sketch is ready and you can start working on the details.

Stage 3
It is most convenient to start detailing with smaller elements of the muzzle. An almond-shaped eye is drawn just above the auxiliary line. It can be painted over right away.

Then, at the more pointed edge of the head, just below that line, a mouth is marked, as shown in the figure.

The intended ears are worked out as follows: on the left visible one an open part is added, the far right one remains unchanged for now. The head is connected to the body along the back with a smooth line. The entire contour is outlined with shading imitating wool.

Stage 4
In a similar way, the head is connected to the body along the neck and antennae are added.

Stage 5
The only parts that require drawing are the paws. They should be done now, after which the entire outline of the animal is outlined with shading. Particular attention should be paid to the fluffy tail.

Stage 6
All auxiliary lines are deleted. If necessary, the contours are refined, after which you can begin sanding. First, the shadow parts and elongated hairs above the eyes are drawn with denser shading.

Then the entire squirrel is shaded with lighter lines. The belly can be left completely white, and the hairs on the tail can be drawn longer and more distinct.

For children 8 years old

A simpler, but no less interesting way to draw a squirrel, similar to a real animal, step by step, is offered below for children 8 years old. It is quite understandable and accessible to young artists. The view of the squirrel will be from the side and slightly from above, as if showing that it is small.
The image should start from the head. The form is shown in the figure below.

It depicts ears and eyes.

A nose and the inner part of the ear are added to the head. The image of the squirrel's body begins at the bottom right edge. It resembles a circle, slightly elongated towards the head.

The front legs are drawn in a pose characteristic of the animal - under the muzzle, as if it is gnawing nuts.

Excess lines are removed, and the little squirrel is ready for coloring.

For children 5 years old

You can get a funny cartoon character if you draw a squirrel using the option below for children 5 years old. He explains how to draw a squirrel step by step.
First, the muzzle is drawn. Its shape is a circle, cut off at the top.

Eyes, ears, mouth and nose are drawn on the head.

A chic big tail is added and the character is ready.

Easy example

Another way for children, telling how to easily draw a squirrel. By following all the recommendations step by step, you can get a very cute and cheerful animal with a nut in its paws. Fairly simple lines and a lack of complex detailing will appeal to less experienced artists.

The main image is prepared, consisting of a drawing of a fairly large head and a small torso.

The proposed version of the head image is as simplified as possible: two small ears on top, one eye on the visible side, a nose and a smiling mouth.

At the very end, pairs of paws are added, and a nut is drawn in the front ones. The finished image can be filled with color.
