On February 15, the main musical event of the winter took place at the VTB Ice Palace arena: the presentation of the XI Annual National Award “Chart's Dozen” 2018.

The holiday atmosphere began from the Avtozavodskaya metro station and the ZIL MCC station, where the partner of the Moscow Metro award made convenient navigation to the arena especially for the Chart Dozen 2018. It was impossible to pass by several zones without taking a selfie - a stand decorated in the style of “Game of Thrones” from REN TV and the interactive “LAYS” zone, where everyone enjoyed taking “live” photos in the best rock traditions and treated themselves to snacks. Right there, on the second floor, one could prepare in advance for the upcoming “INVASTION 2018” and buy branded tickets for the festival. The branded collection of clothing specially prepared for the Chart Dozen was especially popular, and music lovers besieged racks of vinyl records in search of rare editions.

Well, at 19:30 the most important action of the evening began: the exciting multimedia show #BETWEEN THE PAST AND THE FUTURE began moving the audience through all the milestones of the 50-year history of Russian rock! The hosts of the ceremony, Alexander Bon, Igor Pankov, and their amazing partner, “virtual rocker” Mike, gave an opening speech to the guests of the award. The huge “talking head” has, in fact, become a collective image of the all-knowing Russian rocker, helping everyone present to take an excursion from the past to the future and get acquainted with the most striking episodes from the life of Russian rock legends. The scenery was huge screens with a unique video sequence that conveyed the atmosphere of all movements of rock music from the underground to the present: selections of recordings from apartment buildings, concerts and personal archives of musicians; a selection from films featuring Russian rockers. However, the guests of the “Chart Dozen” 2018 were most interested, of course, in music and artists.

The opening of such a multifaceted show was entrusted not to just anyone, but to a real legend. Perhaps one of the most iconic artists of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Vysotsky, appeared on the stage of the VTB Ice Palace arena, becoming one of the main surprises of the “Chart Dozen” 2018. Thanks to modern technologies, all guests of the award were able to see the performance of the iconic singer and poet of the era with Orchestra "Globalis"

The multimedia show, in fact, was divided into several time blocks, reflecting the mood of the rock heroes of that time. Thus, the first to appear on stage in the “Era of 60-70” were the musicians of the legendary “Time Machine”. To thunderous applause from the audience and a vibrant video, the musicians performed their hits “Turn” and “One Day the World Will Bend Under Us.” However, the time has come for a new era and new heroes: the cluster of the 80s – 90s of the last century was opened by ex-participant of the cult “Agatha Christie” Vadim Samoilov. In the ten-thousand-capacity arena of the VTB Ice Palace, there was not a person who did not sing along to “Fairy Taiga” and “Helicopter Carpet,” and the new song “Somewhere Between,” written by the late Alexander Kozlov back in the days of “Agatha,” couldn't fit better into the concept of the show. After Vadim Samoilov’s incredible energy performance, another colorful representative of the “heavy artillery of our rock scene” - the DDT group - took to the stage. “The legend of Ufa rock and roll” Yuri Shevchuk performed the cult “Major Boys”, “White River” and the song that received the award in the “Chart Leader” category - “Love is not lost”. Then the baton of the already warmed-up audience was taken over by the group “SerGa” - the painfully familiar chords of the songs heard under the dome completely captivated the audience.

After such an impressive performance, it was difficult to raise the intensity of passions in the hall even higher, but the group “25/17” completely succeeded! The entire VTB Ice Palace danced to their energetic performance. The new rock era introduced new rock heroes and delighted the audience: the debutants of the Chart Dozen Award, the Lomonosov Plan group, performed songs in their unique style, thereby denoting the “PUNK” trend of Russian rock. The hall exploded to the legendary hits “Sorcerer Doll” and “Jumping from a Cliff” performed by the group “KnyaZz”, combined with impressive pyrotechnics. The halfway point of the event was approaching, and with it a new musical milestone: “the era of 2000.” The ever-driving Ivan Demyan and the group “7B” took the stage, then, without giving the audience a break, the most beloved artists staged a super show on stage: “Animal Jazz” brought back “our 2007”, the winner in the “Soloist” category Lusine Gevorkyan delighted the audience and LOUNA group, actively interacting with the audience.

The third act of the “Chart Dozen” 2018 was opened by the smiling musicians BrainStorm, Nike Borzov picked up the cheerful mood and performed his positive hits, and meanwhile the virtual host Mike was already announcing the final segment of the show - “The Future” of Russian rock. The BI-2 group succeeded in fulfilling such an important mission of “guests from the future”, it’s not for nothing that for the second year they have received two awards from the “Chart Dozen” 2018 award!

So who won in the other categories?

The XI Annual Music Award “Chart Dozen” 2018 turned out to be rich in “doubles”. In addition to the group “BI-2”, which won in the categories “Concert” and “Duet”, this year “Leningrad” received two statuettes: the best “Clip” - “Voyage” was chosen by popular vote, and the group was also awarded in the category “ Odnoklassniki's Choice." The daring “25/17” were able to compare with the “legends of Russian rock”: the group was named the best “Group”, and the record “Eva Goes to Babylon” - the best “Album”.
Who should receive awards if not the best of the best? The charismatic Dmitry Revyakin was recognized in absentia as the “Soloist” of the year - it was not for nothing that a member of the Expert Jury, the flamboyant journalist Otar Kushanashvili, advocated for him so much. The best “Soloist” was the beautiful Lusine Gevorkyan. The Lomonosov Plan group took the statuette in the Hacking category.

Experts and organizers of the award honored the memory of the great Vladimir Vysotsky, who would have turned 80 this year, with the title “Legend”. The social program of therapeutic sports “Dream Skis” by Sergei Belogolovtsev was awarded the victory in the “Charity” nomination.

Of course, the organizers could not help but arrange a surprise at the “Chart Dozen” 2018: a special nomination “Moving Up” was awarded to the director and actors of the film of the same name, which became the highest-rated Russian premiere of last year. He presented the award to a large delegation, including a sports veteran who took part in that legendary basketball match in 1972, a man whose name has also become a legend - Hero of Russia, pilot-cosmonaut Sergei Ryazansky.

Indeed, “New Star Factory” has been on air for three weeks now. And, as Arman Davletyarov, general director of the MUZ-TV channel, notes, the project aroused great interest among viewers. “The figures that we receive from reporting concerts and show diaries are two and sometimes three times higher than the channel’s share. This indicates great interest in the “New Star Factory”. People are very happy to watch what is happening in the house, get sick and discuss. According to Viktor Drobysh, the living conditions of factory owners are significantly different for the better from what they were before, and one can only envy the competitors. “We ourselves would love to live in this house!” - admits Arman Davletyarov. “It’s like a sanatorium,” Yulia Sumacheva supports her colleagues.

True, the participants of the “New Star Factory” have their own views on living in the house. There is also an alternative opinion. “It’s difficult just to be here - in a closed room, where everything is monotonous and monotonous. There is no brightness of everyday life. I’m used to living like this: I woke up, went outside and that’s it - I’m gone until the evening. But here they don’t let anyone go anywhere, and every day the same faces,” admitted young rapper Nikita Kuznetsov. “At the Star Factory, I have the feeling that I’m back at school: lessons, getting up in the morning, exercises, lights out. All this cannot be put into words, you just need to move into this house and live there for a week. Honestly, it's difficult. Although there are days when you simply forget that you are in a closed space and have a blast.”

And these are not all the difficulties of staying in a starry house. “The most difficult thing is cleaning and, perhaps, choosing costumes,” says the youngest participant in the project, Zina Kupriyanovich, about the hardships of life on a television project.

Celebrity guests who regularly visit the participants of the “New Star Factory” try to add brightness to everyday life. Nathan, Dzhigan, musicians from the group “City 312” were already there. Elman Zeynalov generally experienced unhappy love on the eve of the “New Star Factory”. A few months before the wedding, the bride left him for a producer.
