Here you can find out the latest news from the life of space and the universe, meet visionary artists, talk about urban anthropology and even look at Kazimir Malevich’s “Black Square” with new eyes.

Among the festival participants are the curator of the Polytech festival Olga Vad, director, artist and curator Vera Martynova, photographer Igor Mukhin, art historian Andrei Sarabyanov, director of Russia’s first Design Museum Alexander Sankov, art critic Sergei Khachaturov and others.

2. Pop-up festival

Every year, on the evening of May 20, huge queues line up at the doors and gates of the capital’s most popular museums. This time, a tedious and boring pastime promises to become exciting and enjoyable. All evening - from 18:00 to 23:00 - branded buses with artists and musicians will run around the city, from museum to museum.

The museum “queues” won’t even have time to look back when suddenly everyone around them starts singing, a whole brass band will march past, and very close by there will be a parallel line of young actors from Moscow theaters playing a performance. Wait for the Action vans at the Tretyakov Gallery on Lavrushinsky Lane, the Museum of Cosmonautics, the Central Manege, the Darwin Museum and even the Zoo.


3. Concert in the house of M. S. Shchepkin

The headliner of Russian neoclassical music, touring in the West and East, composer and pianist Misha Mishchenko, will give a concert in the house of M. S. Shchepkin. Muscovite Mishchenko composes instrumental compositions and records records, reinventing classical and academic music - from romanticism to minimalism and ethnic music, known for tracks for films, in one of which he sounds, for example, a charango - a South Mexican guitar made from an armadillo shell, and for accompanying a fabulous short film by clothing designer Lesya Paramonova.

4. Performance by VASYABEGA “A017UM 77” at the Museum of Moscow

At the Museum of Moscow Premiere of the new performance “A017UM 77” by VASYABEGI as part of the “Conversation in the City” series. The project was prepared jointly with the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. “A017UM 77” is the car number. A-O-U-M - breath divided into sounds. With the help of a variety of theatrical and artistic means, a space is constructed within the performance, representing a certain situation and divided into 6 zones according to the methodological manual.

The “Manual” describes 6 stages of self-knowledge, which participants go through step by step, stopping at one or another depending on the degree of intensity of internal work. By involving viewers in this space, the team strives not only to tell a story, but to create conditions that would allow the viewer to gain personal experience of experiencing this “event”, of being inside it.

5. Night at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts

As part of the program of events, a virtual excursion with an audio guide around the Museum Town (IZI Travel) and a quest around the Main Building of the Museum “Pushkin Revived”, compiled by students of the Young Art Critics Club. For the most erudite visitors, there is the opportunity to visit the museum for free and without waiting in line: you need to answer online test questions on the history of the Museum and the content of current exhibitions. The test will be available from 18:00 on the website www.arts-museum.ru/museumnight. The museum also launches the “I am a tour guide” campaign.

On the “Night of Museums” at the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin invites visitors to record a short video (up to 90 seconds long) on ​​their smartphones on the topic of an exhibition, exhibit or event that will take place at the Museum. This could be a short excursion, a story about the Museum, a description of your favorite exhibit. 6. Festive evening “It has become possible to love” at the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val

This year, the program of the annual “Night at the Museum” event is dedicated to the “Thaw” exhibition, which is being held at the Tretyakov Gallery until June 11. As part of the Farce Major Concert musical program, you will be able to listen to the main songs of the era, performed by actors from the Theater of Nations. Thematic master classes will be held for children and parents in the Museum’s Creative Workshop.

An international food court dedicated to the VI World Festival of Youth and Students of 1957 will open in the museum courtyard and there will be an interactive photo zone where all visitors will be invited to take photographs in the interiors of that time. By the evening, a dance floor will open, where you can master dances such as foxtrot, jive and lipsey to live music, accompanied by professional dancers.

7. Street festival “White Night in Kolomenskoye”

A number of thematic and concert venues, combined into a quest route, will be presented in various parts of the Royal Kazan Garden. To complete it, guests will need to visit several gaming areas, participate in competitions and master classes. After completing all the tasks, the quest participants receive a prize that they will need for the final flash mob.

During the festival, circus performers will perform in colorful, bright costumes. An open-air art exhibition and a flowering garden will create the atmosphere of a magical evening accompanied by jazz and pop music.

8. Excursion program “Journey to the magical land of cats” at the Kuklachev Cat Theater

9. Walking tour “Mikhail Bulgakov’s Fantastic Moscow” at the M. A. Bulgakov Museum

On the excursion you can see: the building of the Variety Theater, where a session of black magic and its exposure took place; the house in which Bulgakov took part in a seance; the setting of the stories “Diaboliad” and “Fatal Eggs” and even the office of Professor Persikov. 10. Creative evening “Cosmic scores” at Winzavod

The general theme of the night at the museum in the anniversary year of Winzavod will be discussions by artists, poets and performers about cosmism and borderline states - dreams, dreams, daydreams, what would happen if. The central events of the evening are performances, mini-performances, theatrical performances that will reveal borderline states from different angles and points of view.

Guests are invited not only to reflect on the topic of sleep, but also to immerse themselves in an interactive journey - a performance promenade with elements of a quest, exploring non-verbal communication between dancers and the public. In addition, a print market and master classes will operate at the CCA sites.

The next, eleventh, all-Russian event “Night of Museums” will take place on the night of May 20-21. More than 200 cultural venues in the capital - museums, galleries, libraries, parks - will welcome visitors until the early morning. Residents of the capital will see many interesting events - concerts, quests, competitions, performances, and will take part in excursions and master classes.

Popular Moscow museums, galleries, parks, exhibition halls will take part in the “Night of Museums” event - the Tretyakov Gallery, the Tsaritsyno estate, the Artplay design center, the State Center for Contemporary Art, the Hermitage Garden, the Kremlin in Izmailovo, the Museum. A. Rublev, Moscow Zoo, Darwin Museum, Manege exhibition hall, etc. At night, interesting events will take place in the open air - in parks, estates, squares, pedestrian areas. Many programs will be devoted to the topic “Ecology”.

As part of the promotion, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to visit St. Basil's Cathedral, the Historical Museum and the Museum of the Patriotic War of 1812 for free. Visitors will see concerts, take part in excursions (will be held at all three venues every 15 minutes until 21.00), master classes on sculpting Russian toys, painting bells, stone and bone carving, and will be treated to food in the Artillery Courtyard from 17.00 to 21.00 field kitchen. At the Historical Museum, the “History Alive” program will be held from 18.00 to 23.00. The festive ringing of the bells of St. Basil's Cathedral will begin at 21.00 and last half an hour.

The Darwin Museum (Vavilov St., 57) will host original excursions, a concert, and a meeting with the robot Alantim, who will answer questions from guests, tell interesting stories, read poetry and even sing. There will also be an exhibition of works by Andy Warhol, which depict rare species of animals. For young visitors there will be interactive zones “Walk the Path of Evolution” and “Know Yourself - Know the World”, exhibitions “The World under a Microscope” and “The Problem of Four Environments”, as well as a training laboratory. The events will end at midnight.

At the State Center for Contemporary Art (Zoologicheskaya St., 13, building 2), viewers will be able to see the exhibition “Life of the Living”, as well as learn about the latest in sound and video art. From 18.30 to 20.00 the video program of the Japan Media Arts Festival will be shown here (subtitles in English). Next will be a round table “Music, dance and technology: today and 25 years ago.” From 21.00 to 22.40, visitors will see the film “The Age of Dance” about the emergence of a new musical culture in the USSR and the first raves.

In the center of creative industries "Factory" (Perevedenovsky lane, 18) there will be excursions to exhibitions, performances and film screenings, the Hermitage garden will become a platform for educational lectures, a lecture on fashion of the 1960s will be held in Gorky Park, you can also will look at the stars through a telescope, listen to music and poetry. Other venues will also present their programs.

For lovers of walking excursions, 10 free walking routes from popular excursion projects will be organized.
