In the early 2000s, European countries such as Spain and France conducted an experiment and created a television project to search for young talent. The TV show became very popular. In many countries around the world there were thousands of talented people willing to take part in the show. They didn’t stand aside and so “Star Factory 1” (2002) was released. It gave impetus to the future careers of 16 program participants.
How is the project going?
Before the launch of the project, everyone goes through a casting, at which a professional jury strictly selects the top two dozen among thousands of talents. The best ones pass. Participants must have good vocal abilities, decent appearance, artistry, and flexibility.
After the selection, all the guys move into the “Star House”, where they are filmed by hidden cameras around the clock. Every day the participants intensively train in vocals, choreography, acting, psychology, and fitness. Experienced masters give the children lessons in show business skills. The contestants cook their own food and keep order in the common house.
Channel One released daily news from the Star House, where viewers could watch their idols. During the week, each participant prepared his own musical number, which he performed at the reporting concert. At such events, the children were lucky enough to sing with famous pop stars who were invited to the show.
Based on the results of the reporting concert, the project’s pedagogical council chose the three weakest participants for elimination. One of these nominees could be saved by the audience after the concert, another was saved by the team, and the third had to leave the project. The winner of the “Star Factory” got the opportunity to record a disc in the most famous recording studio.
Seven seasons of "Factory"
So, “Star Factory” (season 1) started in 2002. She is remembered for the formation of such groups as “Roots” and “Factory”. The winner of "Star Factory 1" is the group "Roots". This group has become very popular.
The second "Factory" was released in 2003. Many people remember such names as Elena Temnikova and Elena Terleeva. The winner was a very popular singer today, Eurovision 2015 participant Polina Gagarina.
At the end of the same 2003, another episode of the TV show was released. This time the names of Yulia Mikhalchik and Alexander Kireev were revealed. First place was taken by the very original singer Nikita Malinin.
In 2004, Star Factory 4 was launched. A very famous performer today, Stas Piekha, took part in it. Also from this project were Anton Zatsepin and Irina Dubtsova (she also won).
At the end of the same year, Alla Pugacheva decided to become the artistic director of the Factory. This fifth season was remembered for the discovery of such talents as Natalya Podolskaya, Mikhail Veselov, Ruslan Masyukov. Victoria Daineko became the leader.
Two years later (in 2006), the sixth project of the show started. Viktor Drobysh became its leader. It was here that the talent of Zara and Arseny Borodin was revealed. And this time the winner was the singer from Belarus Dmitry Koldun, who will later also take part in Eurovision.

The pride of the "Factory"
The winner of "Star Factory 1", like the leaders of other seasons, received great fame. Many young “stars” shone on the stage. The songs of “Factory” graduate Yulia Savicheva became real hits. The highlight of the project was the women's group "Tutsi". By decision of the pedagogical council, such groups as “Banda”, “Kuba”, “KGB” were created. The guys from the Chelsea group became the favorites of the fair sex. The group of two guys and two girls turned out to be very beautiful - “Yin-Yang”. The groups "Netsuke" and "Ultraviolet" were also formed.
"Star Factory" (season 1)
So, 16 participants were selected for the first “Star Factory”. The artistic director of the project was composer Igor Matvienko. A very eloquent presenter was chosen for the show - Yana Churikova. Group "Korni" now and then
It was a bright and memorable team. The group "Roots" is the winner of "Star Factory 1", and their fans remember this. By the finale of the TV show of the first season, Igor Matvienko created the group “Roots”. The fate of the Factory group
The Star Factory revealed a lot of talent. The group "Roots" ended up ahead of a very bright group of girls. The women's group "Factory" took second place in the competition in the first season. It turned out to be quite a long-term project. Blonde brunette Sati Casanova and fair-haired Irina Toneva, with the help of Igor Matvienko, remained a fairly close-knit team for a long time. A lot of popular pop hits were performed by girls. It is worth remembering the following songs: “Fish”, “Light the Lights”, “About Love”, “I’ll Kiss”, “The Sea is Calling”. In its initial form, she was still a member of the group, but very soon she left the team. All the girls are not only talented, but also very attractive. During the first year of the group's existence, the girls were able to give 200 concerts.
“Factory” existed so successfully for 8 years, until lead singer Sati Casanova left the group. She decided to start a solo career. Since then, she has been replaced by two girls: Katya Li and Sasha Popova. The girls' most popular hit was the song "Don't Be Born Beautiful."
Third place: Mikhail Grebenshchikov
Groovy DJ Misha took third place in the first season of the Star Factory project. Mikhail Grebenshchikov graduated from the Voronezh Assembly College and served in the border troops. This is a very funny and mischievous person who combines intelligence, fun, and love of life. “Star Factory” suited him very well. Mikhail Grebenshchikov felt at ease there. The audience also really liked the artist; he was always among the leaders in voting.
What is the artist doing now? He still remains a wonderful musician, writes poetry, music, acts in TV series, and participates in reality shows.
Other participants
Who else did Star Factory 1 open? The participants were remembered for their diversity. The charming Herman Levi took part in the first project of the reality show. Today he works in the parody field. And it’s not surprising, because his specialized education was pop. For some time he worked in the parody theater of Vladimir Vinokur, and later began performing with Yevgeny Petrosyan. The artist managed to collaborate with Elena Vorobey and will soon perform solo numbers.
